1, 2, 3... YEP... THAT'S ME!!

I have been SOOO busy with work and other matters lately but...
I thought I had better update to let everybody know that...

I am the guest designer over at 1,2,3 Challenge this month. Yep. ME. Unbelievable!! :)

Here is my March Challenge criteria:

Colour: Light/Medium Blue
Word: To/Too/Two
Technique/Product/Theme/Idea: Doilies

Also... UNBELIEVABLE... I still can't believe I won a prize at Scrap Jacked a while ago... insane! Okay, I can believe it now cos I received my prize pack in the mail this week... so much yummy shabby stuff, right up my alley. Thanks ladies!

Definitely having a good scrapping time... except that I have ZERO time available to scrap at the moment! All very weird cos I'm used to being The Crap Scrapper who never wins anything. Ever. Unless it's luck of the draw. So I'm feeling very good about my scrapping right now.

I was in Brisbane last weekend, visitting family and attending Soundwave music festival as well. It was all about the family and friend catchups, though. It was an experience I will not forget in a hurry and there were many memories made that weekend both really good and bad.

Let's Get Shabby Challenge #20

Over at Let's Get Shabby it is all about WEDDINGS this month... YAY!

Seriously, what's more shabby than a WEDDING layout?!
ohh so much tulle and lace and flowers and white pretty ohhh *drools* way too much fun making this layout featuring a photo I snapped of my good friend Meg having a random cloud-watching moment on her wedding day.

Scrap Jacked

Firstly,
OMG!! Thankyou to the lovely women at Scrapjacked... I finally FINALLY scored a prize for my scrapping that was NOT a luck of the draw thing. I'm pretty sure that is the first time (and if not, any other time was so long ago that I do not remember it). This was for my "1st Noel" layout featuring my puppy Cruiser's first Christmas.

YAY... go me!!

Can't wait to receive my yummy websters/prima pack in the mail... it looks scrumptious... YAY!

This month I stepped out of my scrappy comfort zone and used some bright colours for the Scrap Jacked challenge. I lifted Mel's bright layout and used a blue & red colour combo as well as some rhinestones just like she did in her pretty "My Angel" layout. Im not real sure about this one but am sharing it anyway. Thanks for the inspiration, Mel!

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...

Here is my entry for this month's 1, 2, 3 Challenge:

The criteria is:

1. Colour: Cream

2. Word: About

3. Technique: Upcycling

Clearly, my upcycled items are the doilies.

Don't even get me started on doilies... I bought stackloads off Ebay not so long ago... STACKLOADS... I've put aside a big pile of ones I absolutely adore and have been trying to sell the rest on as there's no way I can possibly use them all! So many doilies... my husband thinks it is hilarious that I love something as "nanna" as doilies.

White With 1 - February

Here is my entry for White With 1:

This month it is all about using white with brown and a vintage item.

I had a bit of trouble this month (obviously... it's so not my best layout!) but figured the brown went well with this particular photo of my friends Karina & Dale's one year old bull terrier puppy. He is such a cutie and I have to always remind myself of which breed he is so I don't accidentally offend them. He's a BULL TERRIER (friendly, lively, happy dog) *not* a pitbull (the ones that are restricted and, often, dangerous). Chester also happens to be Cruiser's best mate (apart from his cousin-pup, Thunda) and they have had a few puppy playdates together which is always a great excuse for Karina & I to catch up. They go to the same puppy school, however Chester has been there forever and is nearly finished year 3 while our boy Cruiser has only just finished year 1.

Secret

I have a secret!
I'll give you some clues... nah... I won't. Only because I'm terrible with clues and end up giving the game away. You'll just have to wait and see. All will be revealed in about 4 weeks' time.

PROPER UPDATE...

Better late than never... that's the December 123 Challenge.

It's been a long time coming. Here is the first proper blog update in a while. The Christmas Season was busier than I'd expected and time ran away from me a bit... ok. I also apologise for the last few days where I've uploaded one layout at a time for challenge blogs.

Alright, I can't believe I hadn't uploaded this one already. I completed this layout MONTHS ago and it has been on display in my scraproom ever since. It's Kat, Jess & I at Jason's 21st all the way back in September.

ANYway... the pic below is from my "She's got some little cousins" album which I did the cover for ohhh ABOUT A YEAR AGO and then never got around to filling in the pages so I've started doing up this album, finally, with pics of my baby cousins. I'm quite enjoying using the Echo Park papers. They're not my ususal scene but they're a lot of fun and very appropriate for the kids.
It's not finished yet... I've only done about 6 pages in it so far.
Ohhh and I've also given up on my broken old home computer and now only use my laptop... and Ben's PC if i need to print something. What does this mean for my scrapping? Well... it means that the old PC is no longer in my scraproom/study... so it's now a just plain CRAFT ROOM... booyeah.... inspiration central (and far too much pink, apparently!)
Here are some pics of my space...

I'm on a major challenge roll... I did this one last night for this month's 123 challenge.

White With 1: Royal/Navy Blue

So... while on a challenge blog roll, I decided to do the White With 1 Challenge for the month. I discovered I do not have much royal/navy blue in my stash so I kinda just made do with what I could find.

Aussie Scrap Jacked

After hearing about it on Scrap Therapy, I decided to check out Aussie Scrap Jacked and was happy to see so many of my online mates from ST as DT members over there and then saw all the wonderful work they've created as inspiration for this month's challenge and I couldn't resist jumping on the bandwagon. This month, I chose to "lift" Mandy's layout. Now, Miss Mandy and I go way back... she is responsible for pushing me and encouraging me to try shabby chic (which is now my preferred style of scrapping) and also for giving us the idea to have Ben meet me halfway down the aisle at our wedding (thus solving the dilemma of not having anyone to walk me down). It is fitting, then, that the very first layout I have lifted from Scrap Jacked is that of Miss Mandy!

I was inspired by her use of red & green (two colours that i have trouble scrapping with... together and separately!) and shabby chic style. I also used several photos on my layout (which I usually avoid doing) just like she did. Here is Mandy's Layout and here is my lift...
I used Basic Grey & October Afternoon Papers, Prima journaling sticker & flowers. Cannot remember what brand the flower-lace is but I bought it from Scrap Therapy. I also used A.C thickers. This layout, of course, is of our darling puppy Cruiser and his total disgust at having to wear a Santa hat for photos of him celebrating his first Christmas.
